A native of southern California, Michael Chang graduated from the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music in 2006. At Curtis he led the chamber music mentor program under the tutelage of Steven Tenenbom of the Orion String Quartet. Mr. Chang was a three-time invitee of the Pacific Music Festival where he served as a principal violist from 2004 to 2006. Chang has toured numerous cities performing various chamber music works with Concertmaster Rainer Kuchel and principal players of Vienna Philharmonic, and has also toured with Ensemble Ditto, an exceptionally successful chamber music series in Korea. Chang is an active performer and a dedicated teacher in southern California. Currently he is volunteering his time as an Artistic Advisor for “Love-In-Music ,“ a group dedicated to providing music education to underserved youth in inner-city Santa Ana.  Chang serves on the faculty at California State University, Fullerton.
